DEANDRE ALLEN-TOOLE

DeAndre James Allen-Toole is a Detroit-bred composer for film, television, games, and new media best known for his original score to Julian Higgins’ neo-Western feature God’s Country–starring Thandiwe Newton, set to release in Fall 2022. First showing as a 2022 Sundance Film Festival Premieres selection, God’s Country has received widespread critical acclaim for many aspects, notably including DeAndre’s score.
DeAndre is also known for writing additional music on multiple projects, including 4400, Citizen Ashe, Reopening Night, Four Seasons Total Documentary, Future of Work, Cat People, Pride, The People vs. The Klan, The March on Washington: Keepers of the Dream, and many more. With his longtime love of video game composition, DeAndre has also composed the music for Oculus wave-shooter game Disassembled in 2017, and most recently has composed for the game Redfall by Arkane Studios, set to drop in 2022.
Among his growing list of accomplishments, DeAndre is a Sundance Institute Film Music & Sound Design Lab alum, a Sundance Institute Interdisciplinary Program grantee, and most recently, a Reel Change Film Fund grantee aiding his work on God’s Country. He has also received past recognition as a Game Audio Network Guild Scholar, a Television Academy Foundation Summer Internship awardee, and a Columbia College Chicago Graduate Merit Award recipient.
