KING COOLEY

King Cooley is a multi-hyphenate, femme performing artist from Atlanta, Georgia. Her certified rap bars, neo-soul soothing vocals, and bone-chilling lyricism are just the crown of her creative package.
The southern songstress’s love of storytelling began early as a young artist, drawing comics for friends and collecting album artwork from her favorite CDs. Cooley’s interest in the arts led her to attend the Savannah College of Art & Design where she received her B.F.A. in Graphic Design. Shortly after graduating, Cooley began working in corporate America while secretly releasing music as “Cooley Savant”.
During that time, she released a series of singles including the track title, “Climate Change”. Shortly after, the track blasted through the digital sphere — and, to Cooley’s dismay, onto the desktops of several coworkers and supervisors. To date, Climate Change has earned over 270,000 streams and has been added to over 2,000 Spotify playlists including Spotify’s Fresh Finds, Discover Weekly, Next Wave Neo-Soul, and Madame Gandi’s “The Future is Female” playlist.
With the success of Climate Change and her follow-up single “Nevermind”, Cooley was encouraged to hone her skills and combine her talents as a music and visual storyteller. The rapper-singer-designer began self-producing her own content designing her own album artwork, directing her own creative content, and sound designing her own projects.
Now, amongst headlining shows in Brooklyn and firing up studios in ATL, Cooley has been contracted to design for an array of major brands like the NBA, Sprite, A3C, and HBO. Today, as one of the youngest Black female Art Directors in her field, King Cooley is trailblazing for other multi-disciplinary artists and works to inspire other artists to embrace the power of creative diversity. Cooley’s latest, self-produced single “Acrylic” is available now.
