West One Music’s Asia Record Collective returns with Hindi Love Songs, an EP of gorgeous, sentimental love songs created by the talented and famous Indian playback singers Navneeth Sundar and Vandana Srinivasan, both based in Chennai, India.

The Hindi EP includes traditional ballads influenced by Hindi Pop and Jazz, creating a nicely varied sound palette. The instruments were recorded live in India and London, tracking live drums, bass, and piano at Konk Studios.

Vandana Srinivasan

Vandana is a prominent singer, songwriter, performer, recording artist, and entrepreneur. Born and raised in Doha, Qatar, Vandana’s culturally rich childhood nurtured her diverse musical interests with training in Carnatic and Hindustani vocals.

Vandana debuted as a playback singer with the song “Unna Ippa” from “Kayal” (2014), garnering her nomination for Filmfare’s Best Female Playback Singer in 2015. She gained further popularity by lending her vocals to tracks such as “Koodamela Koodavechi” from Rummy (2014) and “Oru Paadhi Kadhavu” from Thandavam (2012). Vandana has sung for music directors like GV Prakash Kumar and D Imman. She has become a well-known voice in the industry with over 100 films and independent songs across various languages, including Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, and Kannada.

Vandana co-founded Madras Mehfil, a collective that remains deeply committed to preserving the rich traditions of Indian classical music. Her expertise in Ghazals, Bhajans, Sufi, and semi-classical genres creates performances that resonate on a personal and cultural level.

NAVNEETH SUNDAR

Navneeth is a composer, keyboardist, Geoshred artist, and performer. He started as a musical prodigy at eight and has owned the stage since then. His performances have created a distinctive approach to classical fusion music.

Making his presence felt in the classical and fusion music scene, he is one of the most technically complex artists, well known for being the first musician to explore carnatic music beyond the constriction of instruments with the help of an iPad, acknowledged and listed by the Limcabook of records.

His performance of Desh Thillana, a classical composition shared on social media by A. R. Rahman in 2015, skyrocketed him to worldwide fame. He has scored the music for films in Tamil, Malayalam and Telugu, and some of his songs are massive evergreen hits like “Chandrachooda”, “Kadalil Kanmashipole”, “Sakhiya Sakhiya”, etc. When he was just 20, In 2004, he was awarded the title of “Sangeetha Bhaskara” at Narada Gana Sabha, Chennai, for his excellence in Classical Carnatic music.

Abhay Jodhpurkar

Abhay is a versatile, multilingual playback singer who has recorded over 150+ songs in 14 Indian languages, including his debut with A R Rahman, i.e. “Moongil Thottam” from Kadal (Mani Ratnam) in Tamil and then Hindi Debut with Ajay-Atul being Mere Naam Tu from Zero.
