PHIL JOANNIDES

Music has always played a big role in Phil’s life. The first notable milestone is when Phil started his professional music career as an assistant engineer at Metropolis Mastering Studios in London at age 23, In the same month his first EP was signed to KULT Records (USA), which kick-started his career as an artist.

As an assistant mastering engineer at Metropolis he was in charge of copy/production room operations, including quality control, editing, and more. This high-pressure environment delivered large quantities of music to a wide range of clients with no room for error.

In 2012, Phil left Metropolis to found Push The Frequency (creative music services) and took residence at The Park Studios, London, where he expanded into composition, music production and mixing. He continued his artist career whilst working with other artists on commercial releases, soon gaining a client base and experience working with many different influences, styles and sounds. His compositions and production work have found homes on record labels like Kscope, PIAS, Perfecto/Armada, Sound Avenue, Proton, Traum Schallplatten and Go Deeva.

He has composed music for games clients including Channel 4 and the British Olympic Committee as well as Ben Olding Games’ Starfighter: Infinity (Steam).

Phil’s media compositions have been used by Apple, Buxton Water, Hewlett Packard, Sky documentary films, Netflix, BBC, Channel 4, ITV, MTV as well as major international sports competitions such as CEV (European Volleyball Championship).
